My impressions on IUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum

Serums are my favourite products to use because they effectively target your skin issues. As the treatment step, I am always looking for brightening products with calming and healing properties. I have combination skin with sensitive area but I am also acne prone and hormonal break outs are my main issue.

I was fortunate enough to have received IUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum from Unique4u and was so excited to try it. I am a big fan of the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and the Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence so I had big expectations from the Black Snail serum especially as most reviews are quite positive. However I am not a big fan of sheet masks with snail essence but mainly because of the gloopy essence texture and its distinctive snail smell (although I might just be the only one who can smell it).

First impressions

I love the brand image and find their packaging very clean and simple. The product comes in a clear bottle with a dropper. I can't smell anything and the serum has a typical gloopy texture known to snail products.

Claims

As its name indicates, the serum promises to restore the skin.

But how??

With its content: an impressive 70% of Black Snail extract that will help your skin restore its natural barrier and protect it, heal and calm skin redness while improving its texture and keep it hydrated and nourished.

Is it love or hate?

When trying new products because you don't start with a clean blank canvas, your skin already has its issues and you already have a set routine, it's not easy sometimes to see an immediate effect on the skin and it will usually take about 4 weeks to see some real results. So after 2 months of using the Black Snail Restore Serum, I can definitely say that I love it!

It took some time for me to see some real effects. I find the serum very hydrating and the texture is quite pleasant to apply on the skin. It absorbs very quickly and doesn't leave a tacky or oily feeling.

how i use it

The first few weeks, I use it as part of my routine after my toner and essence and I did not see any improvements although my skin did look brightened and healthy. I have lots of acne scars on my chin and cheeks and I like products that can help fade them away until I break out again (story of my life).

Then I started using it before my sheet masks in the evening and that's when I started to see real improvements. My scars have literally faded but everytime I have a new pimple, I just apply a small amount on it before applying my sheet mask (I especially love it paired with Polatam Optimal Repairing Water Gel Mask) and the pimple will reduce in size and my skin will be soothed and calmed.
